Native American Motifs

Washington Redskins
The washington redskins logo has two primary colours that are gold and burgundy. In their logo shows the native american chief face with the feather hat in burgundy colour. The concept of the logo is place the native american head, facing the right but it originally was facing to left. The chief head is placed within a yellow circle which has some yellow feathers. The colour of the circle, yellow comes from the team colours of burgundy and gold. Chief zee is the name of the person that shows in this logo.
1965-1969

The logo of the team has been changed time to time since it started.

1982
In their logo they used exactly the same american native (red indians face) head with the feathers, in this logo they changed the colours of the feathers to yellow but all the rest are match to the original american natives.

The logo of the washington redskins seems to be attractive, it works well with the nicely illustrated graphics and primary colours that use in logo. The logo gives nice contrast and negative and positive space. Using the fewer colours in logo  that works any application. They well considered about the stability of the logo and movement of the colours. The graphics are very sharped and easy to identify what is trying to say with the logo.
1983-present

I personally like this logo because it has nice graphics with strong contrast and placement of elements are perfect.
I think the logo has achieved
its intention using american native head.

Melbourne sports Museum Critiques

2008 Beijing olympic logo

I am going to critique 2008 beijing olympic logo that well known  dancing character. The logo is created in 2008 by 70 years old Chinese artist Han Meilin.
Dancing beijing is a another cord word for beijing olympic logo. There is a story behind this logo which is historic and cultural. The design of the logo inspired from the ancient chinese character. With inspiration from the traditional chinese art form - calligraphic art, the character 'jing' (the letter of the city's name) is developed in to the form of new dancing human character. Dancing beijing is a chinese seal. It represent the trust, self confidence and also trying to show grand picture of peace and  friendship.
This design has nice colour combination and its work well with the original olympic logo. It emphasis the character by using white colour and the storks of the character are freely used and very dramatic. The logo work well with the positive and negative space and well balanced all the artworks and text are aligned to the centre. There are limited number of elements and principles use in this logo which  is line and colour, red colour that use for the background gives more depth to the logo. The design of this logo based on traditional chinese art form which is calligraphic that is why characters stroke are look more curve and brush stroke effect.
I think the logo is work well with their concept that form from the traditional art techniques. It looks like a more simple and forming their tradition through this logo.

Collingwood football club uniform

In this collingwood uniform has nice contrast and negative and positive space. Black and white semetrical lines gives more depth to the overall look of the uniform. The AFL logo and the other logos work well with the background colours. There are movement as a result of the black and white lines going over the front and back in desent  manner.
The uniform design is quite effective due to choosing nice colourse with the contrast. The design is quite simple and no busy with the additional elements. The elements that are shown in colour and lines. The principle that are used stability and rhythm.
I personally think the overall design and colour usege are quite simple and work well with the uniform. The colours that used in the uniform blend well with the original AFL  logo and collingwood logo. I think uniform design well sutiabal for this kind of mens sports it gives more strong felling. So personaly I like this uniform.
